Position Overview As an integral member of the Project Team, your job as a Senior Technical Designer with M Moser Associates extends through both the design and delivery of highly technical workplace projects. This is a Senior to Senior Associate level role where you are the Technical Lead on the assigned projects, Our Senior Technical Designer, also known as Senior Architectural Designer, Senior Job Captain or Associate, captains the project as early as the client interview, working closely with design team throughout test fit, schematic, design development, and construction document to ensure the design integrity is maintained at all stages of the project. As the project moves into Construction Administration, your role ramps up. You are responsible for quality control, ensuring the designs are buildable. You will work closely with our internal team and external consultants to ensure the design and technical requirements are fully integrated and coordinated, producing high quality Construction Documents including program compliance, code and agency compliance. In this role, you will thrive on innovation and naturally seek out ways to enhance the design process. You'll use advanced visualization tools and AI to bring ideas to life, helping clients make clearer decisions while elevating the design experience and strengthening communication at every stage of the project. Primary Responsibilities Create highly technical and detailed contract documents (CDs) Ensure compliance with local building codes and requirements Coordinate with our Design Director and design team to provide technical solutions for design challenges Partner with project leader to create staffing plans to maintain project schedules Lead project through contract administration phase Oversee the team to deliver local authorities/building department approval submissions and revisions Manage engineering and MEP consultants' work to ensure compliance with design solution and timely submission of documents Lead RFI's and RFQ's for assigned projects Ensure adherence to set budget and immediately informs the Project Manager and client of any potential risk of variances to the budget Oversee deliverables and provide feedback on work product Participate in client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design Job Requirements A Senior Technical Designer with M Moser Associates is enthusiastic, motivated and proud to deliver highly technical and detailed architecture / interiors projects. You are confident in your abilities to exceed client expectations by delivering complex projects with minimal conflict or revisions. You will leverage your robust technical knowledge with your talent for guiding teams to guarantee a successful outcome for your clients. As a Senior Designer in a technical lead capacity you must have strong communication skills, enjoy collaborating with all kinds of creative professionals and have a desire to lead. Qualifications & Key Competencies: 8+ years of experience working in Architecture and Interior Design Minimum 5 years of experience in a Technical Designer, Architectural Designer, or Job Captain role working on medium to large scale workplace projects BCIN, OAA, or NCARB preferred but not required University Degree in Architecture or related (Master's preferred but Not Required) Proficient in: Revit, SketchUp, Adobe suite, Microsoft suite Experience coordinating multiple large projects working with various consultants including MEP, Engineering, IT, AV, Furniture, and other specialty vendors Extensive understanding of applicable state and city building codes and accessibility requirements Ability to develop and coordinate all phases of architectural and construction documents Ability to work with designers through the schematic and design development stages Comprehensive knowledge of constructability of materials, and how building systems interact with each other Ability to produce exceptionally detailed and accurate architectural / construction drawings Strong communication skills with a team-oriented mentality Work independently, with ability to lead others to achieve successful results Interest in enhancing knowledge and teaching others About M Moser We are a global architecture, design, strategy, engineering and delivery firm with more than 1,300 team members across our locations worldwide.
