Intermediate MS Power Platform Developer

Our client has an immediate opening for a skilled and experienced Power Platform Developer to join their team on 8 month contract-to-hire to help lead the design, development, deployment, and management of solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem. Role can be done remotely with travel to Toronto or Ottawa 2-3 times a year.This role requires deep expertise in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven), Power Automate, Dataverse, Dataflows, and security architecture, with a strong understanding of enterprise-grade app development and governance.Key Responsibilities:Design and build advanced Canvas and Model-Driven Power AppsDevelop and manage Power Automate flows for business process automationCreate and maintain Dataflows for data ingestion and transformationArchitect and manage Dataverse tables, relationships, and metadataImplement and manage security roles, field-level security, and user access controlsPackage and deploy solutions using Power Platform Solutions for ALM (Application Lifecycle Management)Integrate Power Apps with external data sources (SQL, SharePoint, APIs, etc.)Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutionsMonitor app performance and usage to troubleshoot issues. Implement enhancements, and deliver new features within established timelinesEnsure compliance with governance policies and best practicesProvide mentorship and guidance to junior developers and citizen developersEnsure continuous improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to optimize app performance, usability, and integration with other systems.Collaborate closely with solution architects to validate technical feasibility and ensure scalable, maintainable designsFacilitate backlog grooming sessions, translating business requirements into actionable user stories and technical tasks.Required Skills & Qualifications:3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power PlatformExpert-level proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) and Power FxStrong experience with Power Automate, including complex flow logic and connectorsDeep understanding of Dataverse architecture, table design, and data modelingExperience with Dataflows (Power Apps, Fabric) including scheduled refreshes and transformationsKnowledge of security roles, business units, and environment-level permissionsFamiliarity with solution management, versioning, and deployment strategiesAbility to integrate with Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party servicesSolid understanding of governance, compliance, and environment strategyExcellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skillsQuick to learn and adapt, resourcefulStrong experience in table management, data transformation and mapping.Nice-to-Have Qualifications:Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker Associate or Power Platform Developer AssociateExperience with Power BI, Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or custom connectorsExperience in AWS and Amazon SQSFamiliarity with DevOps practices and tools for Power PlatformBackground in enterprise IT, data architecture, or business analysisAdditional experience in any of the following: JSON, REST/SOAP, Python, C++, SQL, an assetIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.This posting is for an existing vacancy with the organization.AI may be used to screen, assess or select applicants for the position.
