Information Technology Project Manager

Brainhunter is currently seeking "IT Project Manager – IT Asset Management (ITAM)" to work for our valued Client in Calgary, Alberta. It's a one - year contract opportunity. Position Overview The IT Project Manager – IT Asset Management (ITAM) will lead and deliver a portfolio of ITAM initiatives within the infrastructure program, supporting the optimization, governance, and lifecycle management of technology assets across the organization. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment with operational, regulatory, and business objectives in a complex oil, gas, and utilities environment. The successful candidate will bring extensive project management experience and a strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle practices, infrastructure environments, and enterprise governance, enabling improved visibility, cost control, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities • Lead the planning and execution of ITAM projects within the Infrastructure portfolio, from initiation through close-out • Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, and success criteria for ITAM initiatives • Manage implementation and optimization of IT Asset Management frameworks, tools, and processes • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure alignment on asset governance • Oversee project schedules, budgets, risks, and dependencies ensuring delivery on time and within scope • Establish and maintain ITAM project roadmaps, governance structures, and reporting mechanisms • Drive process improvements related to asset lifecycle management including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal • Ensure ITAM initiatives comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and steering committee updates • Identify and manage risks, issues, and change requests, ensuring timely resolution • Support implementation or enhancement of ITAM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, Ivanti or equivalent)• Provide regular project reporting including progress, milestones, risks, and financial updates • Support change management, training, and communication activities tied to ITAM initiatives • Partner with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of ITAM solutions Required Qualifications & Experience • Minimum 10 years of Project Management experience delivering IT or infrastructure-related initiatives • Demonstrated experience managing IT Asset Management (ITAM) projects or asset lifecycle programs • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure environments including hardware, software, networks, and cloud assets • Proven experience in large-scale, complex enterprise environments, ideally within Oil, Gas, or Utilities • Experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders • Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment Preferred Qualifications • PMP designation strongly preferred • Experience within an Infrastructure portfolio or capital programs • Experience with enterprise ITAM tools and platforms • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to Oil, Gas & Utilities • ITIL or Asset Management certification (e.g., ISO 19770) considered an asset Core Competencies • Strategic project leadership • Stakeholder engagement and communication • Risk, issue, and change management • Financial and schedule control • Process optimization and governance alignment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Work Environment • Hybrid or onsite environment aligned with operational needs • High collaboration with Infrastructure, Operations, and Governance teams • Exposure to large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives How to Apply: Please email your resume to Reema Kaur at reema.kaur@brainhunter.com We thank all applicants for their interest, however only those candidates shortlisted for next steps will be contacted.
