Our Challenge Our client seeks a Senior Digital Architect to lead service innovation and digital transformation efforts across their organization. The role focuses on designing scalable, user-centric solutions that align with enterprise architecture principles and support modern, agile service delivery. Responsibilities: Lead the development of the overall solution architecture for digital services, emphasizing a citizen-centered and agile approach. Uncover existing system contexts, provide technical discovery and feasibility prototypes, and ensure iterative solution implementation. Guide the team in delivering successful, scalable digital services by defining integration strategies, system boundaries, and reusable components. Develop detailed technical designs, review code, and contribute to implementation to meet business needs. Mentor and coach team members on architecture best practices, code quality, and technical standards. Contribute to the platform's architectural vision by establishing principles, metrics, and standards for service quality. Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through documentation, diagrams, and presentations. Participate actively in continuously developing and improving the architecture practice. Work Experience: Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads (minimum 5 years). Experience as a data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer with a focus on collaborative development of new software applications (minimum 8 years). Proven background leading solution architecture and establishing the overall technical vision for large enterprise projects involving system integrations (minimum 5 years). Experience leading domain modeling and database schema design for transactional and reporting systems (minimum 4 years). Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making (minimum 5 years). Nice to Have: Experience aligning data architecture with organizational strategies and digital service goals (minimum 3 years). Demonstrated application of data governance principles ensuring data quality and compliance (minimum 3 years). Knowledge of secure development practices and identity/access management including Zero Trust Architectures (minimum 4 years). Experience embedding data interoperability and standardization into product workflows (minimum 2 years). Proven record of transforming legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases (minimum 5 years). Expertise with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code in cloud or hybrid environments (minimum 2 years). Familiarity with the Government of Alberta's IT policies, standards, and environment complexity (minimum 2 years). Experience working on large organizations with complex systems including both relational and NoSQL databases (minimum 5 years). Experience as an architect using data analytics platforms and deriving insights from data (minimum 4 years).
