As a Log Home Builder, you will be expected to perform the following duties: - Stack and assemble logs according to construction plans and engineered drawings, ensuring structural alignment, load distribution, and adherence to building codes. - Select, debark, and shape logs using chainsaws and hand tools; - Create precise notches such as saddle notches or dovetail joints to ensure tight and secure fits. - Construct and install floor systems, interior and exterior framing, roof trusses, and partitions using wood and other materials in accordance with carpentry standards. - Measure, cut, and install windows, doors, stairs, and cabinetry to meet specifications, ensuring accuracy and high-quality finishes. - Build and install roofing systems including rafters and sheathing; apply roofing materials such as shingles, shakes, or metal roofing as per project requirements. - Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and building specifications to guide the layout, construction, and installation phases. - Apply sealants, stains, and other protective treatments to wood surfaces to enhance durability and weather resistance. - Assist with site preparation, foundation layout, and scaffolding; - Follow all occupational health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and hazard-free worksite.
