We manage a growing portfolio of Airbnb and short-term rental properties across Vancouver. Our goal is to provide guests with a consistently comfortable and high-quality experience. We're looking for a reliable, skilled, and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician / Handyman who can respond quickly to maintenance issues, handle small repairs, and ensure our properties remain in top condition.
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests across our Airbnb units. This includes performing basic repairs, coordinating with our cleaning and reservation teams, and ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed promptly. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, and takes pride in their work.
This is an on-call/part-time position, ideal for someone who is flexible, responsive, and able to handle a variety of property-related maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
Perform general repair and maintenance work, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs.
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they affect guests.
Coordinate with the Reservation Team and update progress using Breezeway (our property management and maintenance platform).
Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and time spent.
Ensure all properties are safe, functional, and meet company quality standards.
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, cleaning staff, and management when maintenance issues arise.
Be available on call, including evenings and weekends, for urgent repairs or emergencies.
Recommend improvements and preventive maintenance solutions when recurring issues are identified.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or property repair specialist, preferably in residential or hospitality settings.
Strong knowledge of general repairs including basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, and appliance troubleshooting.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel between properties.
Availability to work on call, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly in English; Spanish is an asset.
Familiarity with Breezeway or similar maintenance management software is a plus.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $17.85-$40.54 per hour
Expected hours: 17 – 30 per week
