We are a full -service firm operating out of Abbotsford, Surrey and Vancouver.

Duties

- Assist attorneys in the preparation and organization of legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, contracts, and agreements.

- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation.

- Draft correspondence and legal documents under the supervision of lawyers.

- Maintain and update case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and organized.

- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court hearings for lawyers.

- Answer phone calls and emails, providing information and directing inquiries to the appropriate person.

- Prepare and distribute legal memos, reports, and other internal communications.

- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating with witnesses.

Experience

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a legal assistant/paralegal

- Proficient in legal writing and drafting skills.

- Strong knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures in a legal setting.

- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in legal documents.

- Professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills.

- Knowledge of legal drafting techniques and terminology.

- Ability to conduct thorough research using various resources.

- Experience in project management, including prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
