Job Overview

The Child Care Director plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of our new child care facility EverBright Academy in Sherwood Park. This position requires a passionate and dedicated individual who is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The Child Care Director will lead a team of caregivers and educators, ensuring that all programs meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with state regulations. This role also involves engaging with families and the community to promote the centre's mission and values. Timings 8:30 AM to 5:45 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the child care center, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and policies.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that fosters children's growth and development.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff members, promoting professional development and teamwork.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Create a welcoming environment for children, families, and staff by fostering positive relationships.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care by adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Manage enrollment processes, including tours for prospective families and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with local agencies to support children with disabilities or special needs.

Experience

  • Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or related field is essential.
  • Experience working with children, including those with disabilities, is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in teaching methodologies that support diverse learning styles.
  • Previous caregiving experience that demonstrates compassion, patience, and effective communication skills.
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
