Determined shifts are straight shifts**Spot Welder - Key ResponsibilitiesWork in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the "Act") and the regulations; use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Mott requires to be used or worn; report to the Supervisor the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger themselves or another worker; and report to the Supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which the worker is awareRead Mott drawings to determine requirementsSet controller to the required heat, matching type of steel and thicknessSpot weld & test first off samples and record resultsCheck parts to drawings for quality and quantityFit correct parts together as per drawingsUse appropriate jigs when requiredVerify welded assemblies to drawings and place on carts for paintMaintain integrity of weld continuously through the processMetal finish when neededChange tips and proper set upPerform other duties as requiredSkills & Experience:Minimum of 1 year welding experienceAbility to read blueprints and data sheetsAbility to work with power hand tools effectively (ie. cordless drill)Must know how to use a tape measureBasic math skillsGood organizational skillsPhysically fit for heavy lifting of > 35 lbsThe above are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties, responsibilities and requirements of the job described.
