The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is responsible for the administration of the public school system within the boundaries of Cape Breton and Victoria Counties, supporting approximately 12,000 students in 38 schools.

Required Qualifications
- Valid Teacher Certification in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Expertise with integrating educational technologies within the context of curriculum
- Minimum 5 years successful classroom experience in Nova Scotia
- Ability to work well with others
- Experience providing professional development to teachers
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Technology Integration
- Knowledge, understanding, and application of research based effective practices in integrating technology into instruction, assessment, and evaluation in ICT Outcomes
- Knowledge of current curriculum initiatives in grades P-12
- Teaching experience in a variety of grade levels
- Leadership capabilities
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
- Excellent communicator
- Excellent understanding of the Google Workspace
- Ability to synthesize and relay important information to a large number of people
- Experience with strategies for teaching coding, classroom coding activities, and the Nova Scotia Provincial Coding Outcomes

Technology Integration Mentor
The Technology Integration Mentor will work directly under the Coordinator of Mathematics and Technology and will report to the Director of Programs and Student Services.
This position requires a candidate with a wide variety of technological and educational competencies. The candidate will work closely with the CBVRCE IEI/SIS consultant. This position will support students and educators with educational technologies, help youth foster an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit, and help them develop coding and digital skills. The position requires travel to all schools within the CBVRCE.
The tasks may vary from time to time with the evolution of the work and may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide expertise in the field of educational technology materials to support teachers to effectively integrate technology in Primary to 12 classrooms throughout the Regional Centre
- Provide support and on-going training for staff as required
- Make recommendations with respect to troubleshooting, problem solving and upgrading of education-related technologies
- Maintain accurate records and write reports as required
- Collect data to evaluate the effectiveness of technology tools and strategies
- Promote research and evidence-based practices for school aged children in the area of Educational Technologies
- Work in a variety of roles as supporter, facilitator, leader, mentor or partner and build and develop effective working relationships at varying levels of the organization and with external partners
- Work and communicate effectively within a team environment
- Apply knowledge, experience and commitment in the areas of diversity and equity
- Maintain confidentiality as the norm and desire to engage in continuing education and professional development
- Provide expertise in the areas of digital citizenship
- Provide expertise in the areas of Artificial Intelligence
- Other related work as determined in collaboration with the Coordinator of Mathematics and Technology and the IEI Consultant
