Job Summary:

Join Haliscape Construction for steady, year-round outdoor work. About the Role

Join Haliscape Construction for steady, year-round outdoor work. From spring through fall, you'll help with landscaping projects — laying sod, spreading soil, and building patios and walkways.

When winter arrives, the role shifts to on-call snow removal, clearing snow and ice as needed. Snow removal work is paid at a higher hourly rate to reflect the extra demands and unpredictable hours.

We're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who enjoy physical, hands-on outdoor work, want steady employment across all seasons, and can be flexible during winter weather events. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, as job sites are not on bus routes.

Key Responsibilities

During Landscaping Season (Spring–Fall):

  • Spread, grade, and level soil, mulch, and gravel
  • Lay sod and assist with softscape installations
  • Help build patios, walkways, and retaining walls
  • Maintain organized, safe, and efficient job sites
  • Operate hand tools and small equipment (wheelbarrows, tampers, etc.)

During Winter (On-Call Snow Removal):

  • Respond to snow events as needed — shoveling, salting, and clearing snow
  • Work flexible hours (early mornings, late nights, weekends if required)
  • Ensure walkways, driveways, and entrances are safe and accessible

Requirements

  • Previous landscaping, construction, or outdoor labour experience (1+ season preferred)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — job sites are not on bus routes
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Willingness to be on call for snow events during the winter

Assets (Preferred but Not Required)

  • Experience in snow removal or winter maintenance
  • First Aid certification
  • Experience with small equipment (e.g., skid steer, loader, excavator) — higher pay potential
