Job Purpose
The Advanced Microsystems Technologies division provides complete end-to-end product development solutions to a variety of customers. These activities include successful development and implementation of advanced RF and Optical components, modules and systems. The team delivers projects from concept definition, detailed design, process and test development, prototyping and qualification phases, through to implementation into manufacturing.

The Advanced Systems and Interconnect Engineering team is looking for an experienced RF Systems Design Engineer to work within an end to end product development team, to successfully develop and implement advanced RF Optical modules and systems. Responsibilities include delivering RF and analog/digital designs consisting of cascaded analysis, circuit design, EM simulation, and layout design. The candidate will be expected to collaborate with a cross function product development team and be capable of taking a technical leadership role.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide detailed design of RF systems, analog/digital circuits and components over several frequency bands for a variety of applications (narrowband, broadband, wireless, high-speed digital, etc.) from DC to 100 GHz.

• Including 1.6/3.2 Tbps transceiver architecture and design

• 5G radio and IOT design
• Power circuit design
• Signal integrity and power integrity knowledge

• Package design familiarity

• As part of integrated product development team, participate in every phase of product development, including requirements definition, architecture and concept definition, specification and selection of components, control and monitoring requirements, algorithm definition, detailed implementation, integration and characterization.

• Perform system level analysis and simulation to define product architecture.
• Familiarity with filter definition and design, LNA, PA, mixer, PLL, switch design and implementation.
• Design of peripheral circuits including power supplies, MCU, and analog bias circuitry.
• Perform 3D EM modeling of complex high frequency interconnects structures.
• Perform schematic capture and support substrate layout..
• Work within interdisciplinary engineering team to develop high end RF product solutions in line with customer needs.
• Develop design verification test plans and execute test plans.
• Interact effectively and efficiently as part of a multi-functional team, as well as with customers and suppliers, writing technical proposals, development estimates, reports, supporting current designs and future opportunities.

Education And Experience

• Relevant PhD in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience.
• Experience with system design and simulation such as Keysight Pathwave tools (ADS, Momenum, Genesys, SystemVue, etc.) and Ansys (HFSS, SiWave) required.
• Experience with Cadence Allegro capture tool.
• Ability to complete PCB layout.
• Programming experience in Matlab, C++, Python is an asset.
