Infrastructure Engineer/Linux Engineer_Security Focus

Duration:
One year +Extensions

Schedule:
37.5 hours/week

Location:
Toronto, ON- 5X/Month Onsite (Wednesday every week, and 3rd week- Wednesday and Friday's)

Interview Process:
1-2 rounds (Onsite in Toronto, ON)

Compensation:
$70-$75/Hour

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Playbooks

  • Workflows in Ansible - original work and troubleshooting that work - writing from scratch

  • Clustering - Red Hat Pacemaker and Veritas Clustering VCS (system)

  • Plain shell scripting, bash, shell , Korn Shell (ksh)

  • Write, read, test, and maintain Ansible playbooks/roles/job templates

  • Scripting in Bash, Shell, KornShell

  • Support and maintain Linux and Solaris OS images (custom builds)

  • Handle clustering setup and troubleshooting (Veritas Clustering System (VCS)  & Red Hat Pacemaker)

  • Maintain legacy Solaris infrastructure in LDOM environments

  • Provide Tier 3 support for escalated OS/platform issues

  • Collaborate with other infrastructure teams, automation teams, and support vendors (e.g., DXC)

  • Working on the installation, certification/testing of Qualys, Defender EDR, and Guardicore on the Linux and Solaris fleets in conjunction with the Security teams' own engineers

  • Jumping in to help with the team's other duties/projects

Must-Haves:

  • Red Hat Linux - strong, hands-on experience in enterprise

  • Linux/Unix and/or Solaris system admin experience (5 years)

  • Expert level Linux/Unix knowledge

  • Scripting (Bash, Shell, Korn shell: aka Ksh is used in older legacy, critical Unix systems (like Solaris)

  • Clustering: Experience with Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) required

  • Ansible: Must be able to read and write playbooks from scratch, along with editing and troubleshooting and Ansible Automation Platform (aka Red Hat Tower), AAP2 (aka Ansible Tower) experience

  • Veritas Storage: experience with storage management across Solaris/Linux platforms

  • Solaris: Familiarity required (Solaris 10/11)

  • Experience working on the installation, certification/testing of Qualys, Defender EDR, and Guardicore on the Linux and Solaris fleets:

  • Qualys (with and without the file integrity module) security application on Linux or Solaris

  • Defender EDR security application on Linux or Solaris

  • Guardicore security application on Linux or Solaris

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience managing LDOMs and CDOMs environments

  • Experience with LTAP/HTAP migration projects

  • Familiarity with RH Satellite (patching, repo management)

  • Understanding of SElinux (occasional policy/config support)

  • Clustering: Red Hat Pacemaker/Corosync is a plus
