Journeyman Electrician

We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to join our maintenance department

Journeyman Electrician's report directly to the Maintenance Manager and are responsible for applying their electrical and mechanical support/expertise to maximize equipment utilization, production efficiency, and ensure the safe and continued operation of all electrical components within the facility.

The successful candidate should be mechanically inclined with a strong background in industrial equipment and electrical repair. Experience in the Food Manufacturing industry is considered an asset. Attention to detail is critical with strong organization and communication skills. Preference will be given to those that have also possess Millwright experience and/or Journeyman Millwright certification.

Atmosphere/Working Conditions

• Maintenance Shop, Production Plant, Outdoor (rooftop/yard)

Electrical Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Comply with all Health & Safety protocols, HACCP/GMP guidelines, and internal policies & procedures.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, electrical code specifications, blueprints, etc.
• Complete equipment records and documentation related to tests, maintenance, and modification/repairs in CMMS software.
• Develop and provide professional recommendations for operational improvements such as; design changes, modifications to mechanical systems, equipment, or operating procedures.
• Assemble, install, and repair, all electrical equipment and components as per manufacturer's specification.
• Assist and monitor third party contractors when on site.
• Operate basic hand, power tools, and machinery.

Industrial Mechanic/Millwright:

• Install/troubleshoot/repair vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigeration systems.
• Installation of service pumps, fans, conveyors, generators, and production equipment.
• Inspect equipment to detect malfunctions and preventative maintenance requirements.
• Assist and/or conduct in repairs and completion of various work orders.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Journeyman Electrician certification
• Journeyman Millwright (asset, not required)
• Minimum 2 years' industry (non-automotive) experience in the repair and troubleshooting of production equipment and machinery components (including pneumatic and hydraulic systems, compressors, and conveyors).
• Experience in using CMMS software with strong computer literacy.
• Willingness to respond to call-ins or overtime if/when required.
• Standard first aid certificate preferred but not required.
• General knowledge of WHMIS, GMP's, and HACCP regulations.

Other Information:

• This position requires you to be physically fit with the ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 60lbs. Combination of standing, sitting, crouching, reaching, confined spaces, and/or working at heights.
• Must be tolerant of temperature variations. Cool/hot environments (freezer, chill rooms, smokehouses).
• Steel-toed footwear is required for this position; all other PPE will be supplied by the company.

Shift: 7:00AM-3:30PM Monday to Friday

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
