Full time veterinary assistant/client care representative required to join our veterinary team. Amherst Veterinary Hospital is a busy, progressive small animal clinic located in Kitsilano/Point Grey in Vancouver serving the community since 1987.

 

We are a full-service hospital with long term staff, striving to provide excellent quality of care and medicine for our patients, excellent client service and a positive environment for our employees, where their knowledge/skills can expand. We are looking for a motivated, responsible, compassionate individual with a strong work ethic. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a compassionate approach to animal care, multitask and be reliable.

About The Role:

Our ideal Client Care/Receptionist builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. This involves greeting and checking-in clients in a friendly and warm manner; receiving incoming calls from current and prospective clients utilizing a courteous and caring approach. This person will appropriately screen calls, book appointments, take detailed messages as well as provide knowledgeable non-medical information to clients. Responsibilities also include performing a variety of administrative office tasks, including mail (receiving, sorting, distributing, posting), drafting memos and other correspondence, completing reports and other ad-hoc document requests. Veterinary or Medical office experience is an asset. 
 

Duties Involve:

Greeting clientsWeighing patients File creation and maintenanceAnswering telephonesCleaning exam roomsMulti-tasking the answering of telephones and assisting clients at the front deskInterpreting medical concerns from clients and triaging bookings accordinglyCleaningAnimal RestraintWalking AnimalsAssisting and prepping for procedures

The successful candidate must be available to work on Saturdays. Previous related experience is required. This position is full-time. We offer competitive salaries, uniforms, pet benefits, extended health and dental benefits and a great working environment.
