Senior Research Assistant, Intervention Analysis Modelling of Proportion Time Series Data

Senior Research Assistants are normally graduate students, or University of Winnipeg undergraduate students, employed to assist in the execution and evaluation of research projects in their area of study. The positions may oversee Research Assistants in areas such as the use of proper techniques, analysis, and documentation.
Senior Research Assistants work under the general supervision or direction of more senior researchers or faculty members, and are expected to exercise judgment in prioritizing, planning and organizing their own work within defined parameters.
Position Overview:
The applicant will assist the supervisor by conducting statistics research. Duties include writing code to test the utility of methods designed by the supervisor and data analysis.
Duties:
- The assistant will carry out extensive simulation studies using the R language to test out the supervisor's statistical methods.
- The applicant will analyze real data based on the supervisor's methods. T
- he assistant may be asked to code other methods on intervention analysis published n the literature and for which there is no stand alone R code to use as benchmarks.
Qualifications:
- A minimum Bachelor's degree in statistics or related field is required.
- The ideal candidate has statistics research experience using the R language.
- In addition, the candidate has taken a minimum of 3-credit hours course in time series analysis and has completed 6-credit hours in mathematical statistics.
Condition(s) of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
The period of work will be from December 15, April 15, 2026, and the estimated total hours of work will be 1-66 hours.
