What You'll Be Doing
As the Director of Sales, you will be instrumental in driving our company's growth by developing and executing a business development plan aligned with our corporate objectives. Leading a team of sales professionals, you will foster a culture that promotes our values and implement strategies to enhance performance and meet sales targets.
Your role involves making data-driven decisions, developing a marketing plan to drive revenue growth, and contributing strategically to the leadership team. You will also be responsible for understanding competitors' strategies, overcoming customer objections, and managing the sales and marketing team to annual budgets.
We seek a dynamic leader with experience in coaching and mentoring a team, strong communication skills, and a growth mindset. Flexibility, willingness to travel, and the ability to balance support and accountability are essential.
What You'll Be Working On
As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing multiple facets of the sales process, ensuring that all activities align with the company's strategic goals. Here is an overview of the role:
- Develop and execute a business development plan that is in line with overall corporate objectives.
- Create and lead a team of high performing professional outside and inside sales executives while fostering culture that promotes company values.
- Implement sales management strategies to motivate and improve performance ensuring sales targets are met.
- Review weekly data and analytics to understand and make informed decisions.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan in line with overall corporate objectives.
- Lead and manage a marketing team that drives revenue growth using effective marketing channels.
- Contribute strategically and successfully to the leadership team and its initiatives.
- Accountable in the leadership meeting to sales and marketing targets.
- Set Quarterly and annual aligned sales and marketing targets, plans and strategies.
- Identify and understand competitors' products and their sales strategies and maintain a constant competitive edge.
- Responsible to overcome customer objectives and promote Yardstick's services.
- Provide monthly detailed forecasting.
- Develop and manage the sales and marketing team to annual budgets.
- Promote and manage continued learning around sales development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
- Experience working in IT or MSP.
- 4+ years of experience in a senior leadership role (ideally in sales)
- 7+ years of experience working in a sales role using CRM software.
- Experience running a team of 7-8 people, including coaching and mentoring from entry level to senior.
- Solid experience managing a remote team (experience not necessarily required but preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and motivation techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strategic and creative thinker.
- Willingness to travel within Western Canada up to 25% (Calgary, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Vancouver).
