Apex Security, Grande Prairie's only locally owned Full-Service Security Provider, is hiring; we are looking for responsible, dedicated, highly motivated, and experienced Loss Prevention officers or licensed and experienced security professionals interested in making a transition to plain clothes Loss Prevention.

Apex Security Inc. is a locally owned and operated company providing dynamic security solutions to Grande Prairie and the area since 2005. Successful candidates will be responsible for implementing procedures and systems to prevent the loss of our client's assets and keep their employees and customers safe.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol premises to detect suspected shoplifters and trespassers.
  • Safely recover assets and make arrests under the criminal code of Canada and the Alberta trespass to premises act
  • Investigate potential thefts and frauds concerning our client's property
  • Monitor CCTV footage and provide evidence to the RCMP and Peace officers concerning crimes on client property.

Job Types: Full-time/plain clothes loss prevention

Salary: wage for this position depends on experience

Requirements:

  • Flexibility, reliability, punctuality.
  • Practical interpersonal skills, take direction from the loss prevention manager.
  • Judgment, initiative, strong problem-solving skills
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot to guard against vandalism, trespassing, and theft
  • Working at client sites in plain clothes
  • Play an active role in identifying, monitoring, and reporting security risks during all patrols
  • Respond to emergencies promptly
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Must have strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working 8-hour shifts and must be physically fit to work
  • Previous experience in camera observation, loss prevention, and security
  • Experience with retail security
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Alberta Security License
  • Must be comfortable working alone
  • Must have open availability
  • Must hold a valid Alberta Security License
  • Must have a full Class 5 driver's license
  • A clean criminal record check

Please Note: A valid Alberta Basic Security License is required to work as a Security Guard in the province of Alberta. If you have completed the course and passed both exams, we can assist in the application process for your license. Applications who have not completed the course may not be accepted

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
