Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Carpenter to join our construction and manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of skills including, but not limited to, carpentry, woodworking, flooring, drywalling, taping, mudding, caulking, painting and more. They will be responsible for executing various construction tasks with precision and safety in mind, contributing to high-quality project completion across residential and commercial sites. This position offers an opportunity to work on challenging projects that demand craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute project plans
  • Install cabinetry, flooring, tiles, siding, roofing, and other building materials
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely and efficiently
  • Conduct restoration work including caulking and general repairs
  • Assist with painting and finishing tasks to meet project specifications
  • Measure and cut materials accurately for various applications such as framing or finishing work
  • Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and on budget

Experience

  • Proven experience in construction-related roles such as carpentry, siding, or general maintenance person work
  • Experience with finish work, painting, drywalling and mudding
  • Hands-on experience with flooring installation
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools required for various trades within construction projects
  • Experience with construction project planning is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in demanding environments
  • Prior exposure to restoration projects or manufacturing environments is advantageous
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems enhances versatility within the role

This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing multiple tasks across different trades while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The successful candidate will be a dependable team player with a strong work ethic committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship.

As a company we turn over upwards of 35 houses a year, some of these projects are in the Truro area. However alot of them are in rural areas around the province. Travel is a must with this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
