Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager will oversee the preventative maintenance program, organize and maintain the maintenance shop and act as mentor to the team. The role involves maintaining adherence to GMP/AIB, Health and Safety Standards, and company regulations across all processes and personnel. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our maintenance and production operations by ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently met.
Responsibilities:
· Accountable for facility management, HVAC, compressor, boiler, electrical and building maintenance, contracting work and all production equipment.
· Implement effective maintenance and repair process.
· Manage, motivate, develop and provide direct leadership to maintenance team.
· Review, management and approval of maintenance expenditures and oversight of cost, scope and timing of capital projects.
· Ensure that all scheduled work orders are completed in the allocated time.
· Supervise repairs carried out by maintenance staff and/or Contractors.
· Perform periodic inspections of recently maintained equipment so as to observe the quality of the maintenance performed and the operating condition of the equipment.
· Provide guidance to the Planner/Scheduler when approving, prioritizing and estimating work, and technical assistance when developing job plans.
· Assist with the identification of root causes following equipment failures and development of new maintenance tasks to eliminate them in the future.
· Actively suggested operational improvements to enhance quality, improve production times and reduce costs'
· Ensure compliance with AIB and IFS requirements as it relates to food safety and ensure that corrective action requests are dealt with in an effective and timely manner.
· Able to manage maintenance and maintenance resources effectively using KPI's and benchmarking
· Develop and implement a Predictive Maintenance Program.
· Actively suggested operational improvements to enhance quality, improve production times and reduce costs'.
· Identify inefficiencies and make recommendations for process improvements.
· Implements a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
· Development and implementation of a proactive maintenance strategy.
· Develop and implement a storeroom strategy for spare parts as part of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Experience & Qualifications:
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Licensed millwright preferred
· Min. 5 years' experience in similar role in manufacturing
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is an asset
· Experience with implementing CMMS and predictive maintenance programs
· High energy, hands-on, self-motivated individual
· Proven record of successfully managing & executing multiple projects while meeting quality, timeline, & budgetary objectives.
· Participate in the health and safety, food safety and environmental programs.
Skills & Abilities:
· Strong time management skills with a reputation for punctuality and reliability.
· Collaborative attitude with the ability to interact effectively with management and colleagues.
· Good time-management skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Knowledge in Health & Safety Standards.
