Job Description

Mental Health & Addictions services at Colchester East Hants Health Centre (CEHHC) is seeking a full time Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join their team for a one-year term position. This group provides inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction care to the catchment area of people living in Colchester, East Hants, Cumberland and Pictou Counties through a wide range of mental health and addiction services.

CEHHC is approximately one hour from the region's tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, which provides neonatal support. CEHHC is approximately a 125-bed facility with physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties and sub-specialties.  The physician team are a collegial, and supportive group, further supported by excellent nursing staff. There is also a Mental Health Inpatient Unit (the only one in the Northern Zone).

  • provide direct clinical outpatient care

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 46 weeks per year
  • four weeks vacation
  • two weeks Continuing Medical Education (CME)
