Operations Manager
for an immediate opening at our Accurate Fasteners facility in
Cambridge
.
This leadership position is critical to the site's success, encompassing full operational, inside sales, and personnel responsibility for the Cambridge business unit. The role requires a hands-on approach to ensure efficient daily operations and drive sustainable revenue growth.
Core Responsibilities
The Operations Manager is charged with providing comprehensive leadership and management across key functional areas:
Strategic Leadership & Personnel Management
Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor the site management team (including the Warehouse Manager and Inside Sales Manager) to foster a high-performance, accountable work culture.
Performance Oversight: Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across sales, warehouse efficiency, quality, and service levels. Implement decisive actions to ensure all operational and commercial targets are consistently met.
Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain productive professional relationships with customers, suppliers, and other critical industry organizations.
Operational Efficiency & Compliance
Integrated Management: Oversee the day-to-day integration of warehouse and inside sales functions to ensure seamless workflow, accurate inventory management, and on-time customer fulfillment.
Process Optimization: Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes and implement procedural improvements and new technologies to increase overall efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Quality & Safety Assurance: Identify and implement operational improvements that streamline workflows and reduce waste. Ensure strict compliance with internal controls, company standards, safety policies, and health regulations.
Corporate Alignment: Partner with executive leadership to support company-wide strategic initiatives, drive cross-branch alignment, and execute effective customer retention strategies.
Professional Requirements
Experience
: A minimum of five (5) years of proven leadership experience in distribution, operations with demonstrated success in managing both operational and commercial teams.
Industry Expertise (Preferred)
:
Prior knowledge of the fasteners and distribution industry is highly desirable.
Communication
: Exceptional collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to present performance data and strategic plans to senior management.
Technical Proficiency
: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and experience with relevant ERP/Inventory management systems (Prophet 21 experience is a distinct advantage).
