Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for working with young children. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's development and learning in a nurturing environment. The position involves creating engaging activities, fostering a safe and inclusive classroom, and collaborating with families and staff to support each child's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate learning activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
  • Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to support children's needs and progress
  • Maintain accurate records of student activities, progress reports, and attendance
  • Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies
  • Collaborate with special education staff or specialists when working with children with disabilities or special needs
  • Organize classroom activities that foster creativity, independence, and social skills
  • Demonstrate leadership by guiding assistant teachers or volunteers as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and licensing requirements

Requirements

  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting an asset
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—along with strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Valid CPR/First Aid, Current Police Clearance
  • Own transportation required
