The North Queens Health Clinic offers a collaborative, office-based primary care practice focused on providing comprehensive care to the local community and North Queens Nursing Home residents. Physicians work weekday, daytime hours only, with no on-call responsibilities, promoting a balanced work-life schedule. The clinic uses MedAccess EMR for efficient and integrated charting. Physicians are supported by a dedicated Family Practice Nurse five days per week, a Nurse Practitioner, and experienced clerical staff. Additional visiting support services include blood collection, a dietician, a social worker, and a continuing care coordinator, contributing to a well-rounded, team-based care environment.
Job DescriptionNorth Queens Health Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide coverage during a physician absence from September 15, 2025 to January 16, 2026.
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
