Are you a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives on balancing strong relationships with financial precision? Weston Forest is seeking a Credit & Collections Specialist to manage customer credit risk and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable in alignment with our financial health and cash flow objectives.
In this role, you'll work closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to assess credit exposure, monitor accounts, and maintain positive customer relationships — all while protecting the company's financial interests.

What You'll Do
Credit Management
- Review and assess new customer credit applications, trade references, and financial data.
- Establish and monitor credit limits in accordance with company policies and risk tolerance.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date customer credit files and documentation.
- Recommend credit holds, adjustments, or account reviews as needed.
Collections & Accounts Receivable
- Monitor AR aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue accounts.
- Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and discrepancies.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to address billing or delivery concerns impacting payments.
- Negotiate payment plans when necessary to balance customer relationships and company goals.
- Prepare and distribute weekly AR status reports for management review.
Reporting & Analysis
- Track key collection metrics and identify payment trends.
- Support month-end close by reconciling customer accounts and preparing summaries.
- Assist with internal and external audits and provide data analysis as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales to align on customer credit status and payment terms.
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate posting of payments.
- Provide insights to improve internal processes and reduce disputes.
What We're Looking For
Education & Certification
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Credit or collections certification (e.g., CCP, CIC) is an asset.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in credit, collections, or accounts receivable roles.
- Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments preferred.
- Solid understanding of credit analysis and collection best practices.
Technical Proficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains, TallyWorks, or equivalent).
- Comfortable with financial reporting and data management tools.
