Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to our dental team, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires proficiency in various dental procedures and familiarity with dental software systems.

Hours:

Monday 2:30pm - 7:30pm (min. of 2 per month)

Thursdays 8:00am-4:00pm

Saturday 8:45am-2:15pm (2 per month)

Schedule is posted a year in advance for your planning.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using ClearDent software.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with the dental receptionist for optimal patient flow.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness of the treatment area in compliance with health regulations.
  • Support orthodontic procedures as needed, including patient preparation and follow-up care.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide excellent service in a pediatric setting when required.
  • Utilize CAD technology for assisting in the creation of dental appliances.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred, with a strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Familiarity with dental software systems.
  • Some experience in orthodontics is an asset but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
