Story Behind the Need

Business group: Group Treasury and Risk Technology, Corporate & Commercial Banking Technology team

Project: The PLM (Problem Loan Management) project is a strategic initiative to replace legacy systems for credit loss and default calculations, aiming to standardise data, automate workflows, and enhance reporting for regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. It focuses on scalability, bilingual support, and improved user experience through streamlined processes.

Reason: The development team is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative group to drive the success of this project.

Key Accountabilities:

• Elicit and document requirements: Gather, analyse, and clearly define business and system requirements (functional, non-functional, operational, and transitional) for new solutions and enhancements.
• Perform gap analysis: Identify gaps between current capabilities and future state requirements, recommending viable solutions.
• Analyse processes and data: Conduct detailed business process modelling (AS-IS and TO-BE), data analysis, and logical data modelling to support solution design.
• Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with business units, technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity of requirements.
• Support solution design and development: Translate business needs into functional specifications and assist in evaluating options and alternatives for system capabilities.
• Manage testing activities: Coordinate and execute Integration System Testing (IST) and Quality Assurance (QA) testing, ensuring defects are tracked and resolved.
• Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Develop test cases, support end-user testing, and validate that solutions meet documented requirements.
• Project management and planning: Assist in creating project plans, tracking milestones, managing risks/issues, and supporting governance activities.
• Ensure compliance and quality standards: Adhere to organisational policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate change management: Support training, documentation (SLAs, support model, etc), and transition activities to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or processes.

Skills/Experience/Competencies:

• 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Gather and analyse requirements / user stories
• Create process maps, workflows, and functional specifications
• Manage stakeholders and ensure alignment between business and technical teams
• Communicate complex ideas clearly and produce concise documentation
• Work in Agile environments and understand SDLC phases

Nice to have:

- Working experience in the banking/financial services industry would be an asset

- Knowledge of Credit and Risk applications preferred

- Experience working in Agile environment

Education:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, or a related field.

They will have proven experience gathering requirements and supporting solution design, enabling them to contribute effectively from day one. An average candidate may focus only on documentation and task execution, lack depth in understanding business processes or solutions, and require more guidance to engage stakeholders and add strategic value.
