About the Role:
LivingHope Vision Clinic is seeking a friendly, motivated, and detail-oriented Frame Stylist / Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate has a passion for helping patients, an eye for style, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm, positive patient experience throughout their visit
- Assist patients with frame and lens selection based on style, comfort, and prescription needs
- Record quotes and patient details accurately in our EMR system (OD Pro experience preferred)
- Place glasses orders and follow up with suppliers for timely delivery
- Verify lens prescription accuracy and quality using a lensometer before dispensing
- Perform opening and closing procedures, including equipment setup and maintenance
- Perform pre-testing procedures using equipment such as:
- Auto-Refractor
- Optomap (Digital Retinal Imaging)
- FDT Screening
- Non-Contact Tonometer
- Lensometer
- Manage patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and phone/email communications
- Conduct contact lens training for new wearers
- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and assist with general cleaning duties (dusting, mirrors, vacuuming, etc.)
- Handle administrative tasks including faxes, scanning, voicemail management, and email responses
- Support the optometrist and team to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new software
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a busy clinical environment
- Professional, reliable, and open to feedback
- Previous optical or optometric experience is an asset
