STLLR Gold is a dynamic mineral exploration company focused on discovery and developing the Tower Gold Project and Hollinger Tailings Project in the Timmins area, and Colomac Gold Project in the Northwest Territories. We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled GIS Technician to join our exploration team. The successful candidate will support corporate, exploration, environment and engineering departments and contribute to the successful execution of our ongoing programs.

The position will report to the GIS – Database Geologist and will support a collaborative and multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will have strong background in GIS and experience with mineral exploration, development and mining operations as well as having a focus on safety.

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Collaboration

o Participate in health and safety initiatives, daily and monthly meetings and required reporting.

o Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed at all times.

o Collaborate with the STLLR team and contractors to ensure that the programs and project are properly planned, executed and documented in order to be on time and on budget.

  • Technical

o Create and maintain project related spatial and attribute databases, maps, templates and work instructions.

o Collect data from various sources, including field observations from, but not limited to surveys and drilling, and external datasets.

o Perform data entry, editing, and quality assurance to ensure data integrity and compliance with standards.

o Produce public and corporate facing figures and analysis.

o Generate geological cross-sections and drill logs.

o Maintain GPS equipment and provide support to internal users.

o Liaise with third-party surveyors and suppliers to ensure seamless workflow.

o Print, plot and scan project maps and documents.

o Digitize and geo-reference historical maps.

o Propose recommendations and procedures to improve efficiency and standards.

o Comply with all STLLR Gold Inc. health, safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures.

o Other duties as assigned.

Prerequisites

  • Education, Training & Experience

o GIS technician, GIS technologist, or geomatics, geography, geology graduate or equivalent with significant experience in a geosciences or mining environment.

o A.Sc.T., P.Tech., or GISP designation a plus.

o Proficient with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS.

o Experience with Seequent's suite of software and its GIS integration.

o Experience in database administration and best practice industry standards.

o Knowledge of related databases, SQL queries, cartography, and land survey principles.

o Proficient with Microsoft Office and developing presentation material.

o Possess a valid Ontario G driver's licence with a clean driving record.

o Experience using AutoCAD and Python a plus.

o First Aid, WHMIS, and other relevant safety certifications (preferred).
