We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team and play a critical role in our continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

Estimate Preparation:

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Break down labor, material, and equipment costs to produce detailed project budgets.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
  • Obtain competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors through RFQs.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts to ensure project cost-efficiency.

Project Assessment:

  • Conduct site visits and collaborate with project managers to understand project scopes and complexities.
  • Identify potential risks and propose cost-effective solutions.

Cost Analysis and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain a cost database for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Present detailed cost reports to stakeholders and contribute to project decision-making processes.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Project Management, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and RFP responses.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry (commercial, industrial, or institutional sectors preferred).

Education: Post-secondary degree/diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills:

  • Comfortable developing and maintaining custom estimating tools, templates, and cost databases to support accurate and consistent project pricing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, or Sage Estimating).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.

Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and tender documents.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost analysis.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.
