Role Description

This is a part-time, casual, on-site role for a Shelter Support Worker, located in St John's, NL. The Shelter Support Worker will provide support to seniors in our shelter, assist with their daily needs, and help them access resources. Daily tasks include providing technical support, safeguarding the well-being of seniors, and enhancing their quality of life. The role also involves facilitating communication between seniors and other support services.

Qualifications

  • Experience in support work and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in safeguarding practices and technical support
  • Strong communication skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for working with seniors
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in the social services field is a plus
  • Relevant certifications or training in senior care is beneficial
  • Criminal record and Vulnerable Sector check needed
