Position: Restaurant Purchasing Manager

Location: Desi Bar & Grill, Canada

Who We're Looking For:

  • The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all goods and services required for Desi Bar & Grill, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role requires strong vendor relationship management, inventory control, and coordination with kitchen and operations teams to ensure smooth restaurant functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with vendors for food, beverages, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure all procurement activities align with the restaurant's quality standards and budget guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine stock audits.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and management teams to anticipate and plan purchasing requirements.
  • Track purchase orders and ensure timely receipt of goods.
  • Address and resolve vendor or supply-related issues efficiently.
  • Build and sustain strong, professional relationships with suppliers.
  • Stay informed on market trends and adjust purchasing strategies as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed purchasing and cost analysis reports to management.
  • Utilize QuickBooks for invoicing, reconciliation, and related accounting tasks.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control systems.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management software.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on business needs. The Purchasing Manager will work closely with kitchen and management teams, and may need to visit vendors or suppliers in person.
