Status: Casual (10 hours/week) (Weekends and Statutory Holidays 7:00am-12:00pm)
Location: in-person, Vancouver, BC
The Casual Registered Pharmacist will support the pharmacy in delivering high-quality patient centered services. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll be doing:
Experience & Technical Skills
- Required:
- Deep understanding of the OAT provincial policies and guidelines
- High proficiency and experience with Kroll pharmacy software.
- In-depth knowledge of BC's pharmacy legislation, including the Pharmacy Operations and Drug Scheduling Act (PODSA).
- Direct experience with an Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) program, including patient witness services and medication preparation.
- Preferred (Assets):
- Experience in travel health, chronic disease management, or smoking cessation.
- Experience supervising and mentoring pharmacy students and/or pharmacy technicians.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and a clean driving record.

Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work 7am to 12pm on weekends and statutory holidays.
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for OAT medication delivery purposes (with a valid driver's license).
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Process OAT prescriptions through Kroll pharmacy software.
- Safely prepare and dispense Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) medications in the pharmacy.
- Provide professional witnessed ingestion of OAT medications for patients in the pharmacy, and offsite following pharmacy protocols.
- Utilize the provided company vehicle to deliver and administer OAT medications to patients.
- Collaborate with the Healthcare team to achieve better healthcare outcomes to our patients.
- Uphold all legal and ethical responsibilities regarding narcotic and controlled drug stewardship, with a focus on OAT medications.
· Other Responsibilities:
o Adhere to onsite Health and Safety Procedures.
o Perform other duties as required.
What you'll need:
Mandatory Licensure & Registration
- Current, full, and unrestricted Practicing Pharmacist licence with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC).
- Current, valid CPR and First Aid Certification (Level C or HCP).
- Criminal Record Check for the vulnerable sector.
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
Education & Certification
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Pharm.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized Canadian university or an accredited institution with a qualification recognized by the CPBC.
- Successful completion of the BCPHA OAT CAMPP Program
- Authorization to Administer Drugs by Injection (preferred).
· Two years of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred.
· Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of BC with good standing
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Proficiency in using KROLL pharmacy software and other relevant computer applications.
· Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
· Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
· Ability to manage time and set priorities.
· Ability to adapt to change.
· Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
· Passion for supporting equity-deserving groups holistically.
· Proven cross-cultural skills, particularly with low-literacy and low-English proficiency clients.
· Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating tact, patience, and cultural sensitivity with clients.
· A motivated, flexible, and positive individual who is excited and driven to ensure others are successful, both individually and as part of a team.
· Must be fluent in English; a second language is preferred.
