Looking to get the most out of your upcoming internship?

Hatch is seeking a Civil Engineering Student for an 8-month internship starting in January 2026. Reporting to the Infrastructure, Highways & Bridges group you will support offices globally working from our Vancouver, BC office location.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Work with the engineer of record:
    • Review technical information incoming from the construction teams: test reports, construction checklists, survey files etc.
    • Review redlines and as built construction information for completeness.
  • Work with the project manager:
    • Track progress of Inspection and Testing Plans, Nonconformance Reports, Redline drawings received, Record Drawings produced etc.
    • Follow up with design team members.

You bring to the role:

  • Minimum 2nd year student in a Civil Engineering degree program at an accredited University.
  • In good academic standing.
  • Interested in Civil Engineering - bridges and miscellaneous structures as a career.
  • Extracurricular involvement is considered an asset.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, utility coordination, geotechnical field work, and construction is an asset.
  • Experience in development of project layouts and civil details

  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges.

  • Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges.

Compensation:

Range: $ $34.00

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
