Job Description
The repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) nurse is primarily responsible for administering rTMS treatment, monitoring patient safety. and coordinating care within a multidisciplinary team for individuals with treatment-resistant depression. Under the supervision of a psychiatrist, duties include patient screening and preparation, education, operating and maintaining equipment and evaluating patients during and after sessions using standardized rating scales.
Qualifications
- Case Manager (MSW/OT/RN) required
- Registered with the Ontario College of Nurses
- Experience working in a mental health setting
- Previous TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) experience or willing to obtain
- Experience working with patients independently
- Knowledge and experience in patient focused goal setting and the use of outcome measures
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills needed
- Sound clinical judgement and critical thinking required
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be flexible and show an ability to work collaboratively within a interdisciplinary team
- Liaise with community partners, family physicians and case managers
- Develop programming based on best practice
- Excellent problem solving and conflict/crisis resolution skills
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other related legislation
- Ability to adapt to the demands of a constantly changing workload
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record
- Other duties as assigned
Additional Information
Hours: Monday to Friday, days, 7.5 hour shifts (hours subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $46.004 to $59.637 per hour
