As part of the Protection and Control (P&C) Engineering team, the Electrical Technician is responsible to develop designs of P&C Systems to ensure that the power system is adequately protected against all disturbances and can always be effectively controlled and monitored. In addition to these contributions, this role will be required to provide technical support to field staff such as the P&C technicians.
Key functions include:
• Develop protection and control schemes using NB Power's standard designs, including floor plans, panel layouts, schematics, logic diagrams, wiring, cable schedules, and tray layouts, owning the full drawing package lifecycle.
• Work with corporate computer aided design software to develop engineering drawings for P&C Engineering review prior to field issuance.
• Create job scope documents for panel fabricators including material and wiring lists.
Our ideal teammate will have:
• Post secondary diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• Class 5 Driver's license
An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
