Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Associate Criminal Defense Attorney, located in Brampton, ON. The Criminal Defense Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in criminal cases, conducting thorough legal research, and preparing legal documents. Daily tasks include meeting clients, appearing in court, bail hearings, negotiating plea bargains, and running trials and ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients. Collaboration with colleagues and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of criminal law are also key aspects of this role.

Qualifications

  • A must experience in criminal defense or criminal prosecution
  • Criminal trial experience is mandatory
  • Strong Research skills relevant to the legal field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school in Canada
