Day Service Supervisor – 3-Month Term Position

Hours of Work: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m–4:00 p.m.

Location: In person

Pay: $20.88 per hour

Overview

The Day Service Supervisor (3-month term) is responsible for the daily operations of the Day Service program. This includes planning and overseeing on-site and community-based activities, supporting staff, ensuring participant safety and wellbeing, and coordinating transportation and program logistics. The Supervisor ensures high-quality programming and smooth day-to-day functioning of all service areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Planning and Facilitation
  • Research, plan, and schedule a variety of on-site and community-based activities.
  • Facilitate and supervise on-site programs such as arts and crafts, fitness, life skills, etc.
  • Participate in and supervise community outings and events.
  • Ensure all activities support participant goals, safety, and engagement.

Staff Support and supervision

  • Review daily and weekly staff reports; provide guidance, support, or corrective direction as needed.
  • Provide daily training and coaching to staff.
  • Train and supervise staff in medication administration.
  • Assign staff to specific program areas and activities.
  • Provide coverage for staff vacations, sick time, and other absences as required.

Program Administration and Logistics

  • Maintain accurate program and participant records.
  • Oversee transportation schedules and coordination of vehicles.
  • Manage program and participant financials; prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, safety protocols, and the Collective Agreement.

Qualifications and skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with staff, participants, and families/support networks.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to work effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to the Collective Agreement.
  • Knowledge of general office practices and documentation standards.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong attendance record.

Education

  • High school diploma (Manitoba standards) required.
  • Post-secondary education in Disability and Community Support, Recreational Therapy, or a related field is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.88 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
