The Public Safety Department has an exciting opportunity for a regular full time Administrative Clerk – Police Support Services to join their team and support the Community Police Services team.
Responsibilities
You will provide clerical support for Community Police Services, and will be responsible for preparing invoices for approval; coordinating office supplies for Community Police Services; purchasing supplies for various programs under the Community Police Services umbrella, including the Youth Intervention Team, Block Watch, the Auxiliary Constable and other Volunteer Programs; assisting with the coordination, planning or scheduling of Community Policing Events such as AGMs, appreciation dinners and award ceremonies and carrying out a variety of clerical tasks including data entry, document collation, printing and scanning documents
Requirements
The successful candidate will have related work experience supplemented with courses in office administration and the demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of applicable RCMP and City, regulations, policies, and procedures. In addition, candidates should also be proficient in Excel and comfortable working with other software programs.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to complete standardized tests or exercises to demonstrate their applicable skills and knowledge.
Compensation
$30.70 to $36.08 per hour
(Pay Grade 16 – January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work
This position works 8:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with one scheduled day off (Monday or Friday) approximately each three-week scheduling cycle. Due to the nature and timing of some special events, some work may take place outside of these core hours.
