An opportunity has become available for an Intermediate Accountant with a passion for hospitality and a background in Accounts Payable, deposits, and Accounts Receivables, account reconciliations and other administrative duties as required; reporting to the Office Manager.

Position Details:

  • This is a Full Time/ Part Time Permanent in office only position with flexibility for days, weekends and holidays to start immediately
  • Hours of work are 8 am-4pm , 6-8 hours per day, 4-5 days per week - there is some flexibility
  • Accounts payable scanning, coding and posting for multiple companies
  • Accounts Receivable functions including cash application, follow up on outstanding, reconciliation of accounts and intercompany billing
  • Cash management activities with tips, transfers, cash handling and bank deposits
  • Assist in completing Bank Reconciliations and other supporting account reconciliations
  • Assisting with the journal entries, various ad-hoc tasks and projects as required by the Office Manager and Controller
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls
  • Provide support to the Cash Audit team when needed

Qualifications:

  • 2 years minimum experience in an accounting related position is an asset
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Diploma with related experience will also be considered
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheets
  • Accounting software experience is required

Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to prioritize a high work load and multiple internal stakeholder needs
  • Critical thinker with ability to investigate and ensure items reconcile
  • Attention to detail, highly organized and problem-solving skills are required
  • Work in a team environment with a positive attitude and willingness to help others problem solve
  • Understanding of Point of Sale (POS), ATM and Moneris/Merchant terminals an asset
  • Accuracy and attention to detail a must
