Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our field based team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, blueprint reading, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality work and operational efficiency. The Welder will replace failed components and assemblies, while improving upon their original design, perform general utility welding for forestry and oilfield, from trucks and equipment, to facility welding.

Duties

  • Perform SMAW and GMAW welding on Aluminum, Stainless, and Mild Steel, Incluing QT100 and AR
  • Read and interpret shop drawings and engineered blueprints
  • Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutter, GTAW and Smaw Machines etc.
  • Operate picker and rig materials safely
  • Measure components and replicate dimensions including clearances
  • Well versed in mathematics and trig.
  • Ensure your welds meet established standards.
  • Be mechanically inclined. A sizable portion of the work involves disassembly work in order to perform the welding. Removing components from equipment and reinstalling them using hand tools and impacts, and re assembling after welding is finished is important. Being able to protect wires, hoses, airlines and vulnerable components is critical. Being able to cut and reattach wires, hoses and airlines is also important.
  • Have forethought into jobs and tasks is critical.

Skills

  • Proficiency in SMAW welding, TIG welding, plasma cutting, and oxy fuel welding
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in rigging, machining, assembly, and mechanical environments
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other precision measurement instruments
  • Proven Driving habits
  • Knowledge of transport truck, and heavy equipment is important
  • Math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes
  • Ability to leave a job looking polished and professionally done.

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
