Senior Project Accountant

Toronto, ON | $125,000–$135,000 + Bonus | On-site (5 days per week)

Our client, a
rapidly growing real estate company
with a strong presence across the GTA, is seeking a
Senior Project Accountant
to take a lead role in financial reporting and accounting for multiple residential projects. The company is known for its collaborative culture, hands-on leadership team, and commitment to excellence across all aspects of real estate investment, construction, and financial operations.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership on financial analysis, investor reporting, and project performance tracking. Within
6 months
, this role will evolve into a
Manager-level position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage equity and debt draws for project ownership entities, partnerships, and joint ventures in coordination with cost consultants and lenders.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting for multiple projects, including HST filings, reconciliations, and reporting to external auditors.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting processes.
  • Review and approve project invoices, ensuring compliance with contracts and budgets.
  • Partner with senior management and investors to provide project financial insights and performance updates.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial operations and reporting efficiency.

Qualifications

  • CPA designation
    (or in final stages).
  • Minimum
    3–5 years of accounting or audit experience
    , ideally with exposure to
    real estate or construction
    .
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and
    advanced Excel skills
    .
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • A proactive, team-oriented professional eager to grow into a
    Manager role
    within a dynamic real estate company.
