Junior IT Support Technician Job Description

Frontier Solutions Inc. is a Calgary based IT support and computer consulting business that has been providing quality service, hardware and software solutions since 1995. Our focus is on building strong client relationships while maintaining our exceptional reputation in customer service. We provide managed IT services to small businesses with 10 to 200 employees and take pride in our friendly office environment.

We are seeking the right candidate to fill a position as Junior IT Support Technician. Please take a moment to thoroughly read this job description before application.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with a team to support and maintain customer networks and respond to service tickets
  • Provide Post-implementation support
  • Hands-on support of virtualized systems (Microsoft Hyper-V)
  • Provide technical support for Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, hardware, software, virtualization and networking firewalls/switches
  • Manage workflow using various tool and platforms such as CRM and project management.
  • Build and deploy workstations, servers and networks using specific internal process and systems.
  • After hours system monitoring and emergency support
  • After hours / weekend and project work

Following Qualifications are an Asset:

  • Microsoft certification in Windows Server, Active Directory and Exchange
  • Network+ certification
  • A+ certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in an IT-related field, or relevant work experience will be considered
  • Must have knowledge and aptitude for configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, networks, DNS, TCP/IP, e-mail, Windows Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, printers and smartphones
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems
  • Working knowledge of hardware firewall appliances
  • Working knowledge of anti-virus and spam filtering solutions
  • Valid driver's License and vehicle
