YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. Qualifications & Experience:

Experience in commercial cleaning environment.WHMIS trained (can be provided if not in place).Experience with the safe and proper use and storage of cleaning supplies.Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.Must be 18 years oldIt is a YMCA of Southwestern Ontario requirement that all employees and volunteers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Exemptions will be granted upon receipt of acceptable proof of a permissible Human Rights Code ground. This requirement has been suspended effective June 30, 2022. It may be reinstated in future should the state of public health in our communities require it.
Compensation/Benefits:

$17.60 per hourA YMCA personal membership at our health and fitness branchesA discount on our Childcare and Camp programs Vacation entitlement in accordance with the employment standards regulations
Schedule:

Monday through FridayEvenings shifts - 6:00pm – 11:00pm 25 hours per week
Responsibilities:

YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and proceduresAct as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating YMCA core values in your daily workCleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility. (Classrooms, kitchen, staff room, office, hallways, bathrooms)Regular removal of garbage and recyclingWorking with the team in a positive and enthusiastic manner, to ensure member safety and satisfactionCommitment to serving all membersDemonstrating a commitment to YMCA Mission, Vision and ValuesEnsuring centre is locked and alarm activated upon leaving
