Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and maintenance person work. This role involves applying finishes to walls and ceilings, reading blueprints, and assisting with various construction tasks to ensure high-quality project completion. The Taper will work closely with other tradespeople to deliver professional results on commercial and residential projects.

Duties

  • Apply drywall joint compound and tape to walls and ceilings with precision and attention to detail
  • Sand and finish surfaces to achieve smooth, professional finishes
  • Perform caulking around windows, doors, and other fixtures to ensure proper sealing
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications
  • Assist with carpentry tasks such as framing, trimming, or installing fixtures as needed
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials regularly
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during all tasks

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction painting, drywall taping, or related trades
  • Knowledge of construction processes, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading
  • Maintenance Person experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely
  • Reliable transportation or means of commuting to job sites
  • Prior experience working with or similar projects is a plus
