Bilingual (French/English) Technical Sales Representative

Overview

We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join our client's Montreal-based team, supporting the Quebec region. Reporting to the National Manager, Consulting Engineers, this role focuses on engaging with consulting engineers and design professionals to position the client's advanced HVAC and control solutions at the concept and design stages of projects.

You'll work in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where innovation, sustainability, and energy performance are core values. Your mission is to influence system design, provide technical expertise, and strengthen corporate reputation as a trusted partner in energy-efficient building solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Consultant Engagement

  • Develop relationships with consulting engineers and provide design-phase technical support.
  • Deliver presentations, workshops, and Lunch & Learn sessions, both virtually and in person, to educate design professionals on products, controls, and optimization technologies.
  • Identify new project opportunities and support consultants with selection software and performance modeling tools.
  • Ensure the company's products are incorporated into project specifications as the preferred design standard.

Project Collaboration

  • Monitor projects through all stages, from early design to final aware,and share updates with internal sales teams.
  • Coordinate with technical, sales, and applications specialists to ensure project requirements and submittals align.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals, design documentation, and technical materials.

Relationship Management

  • Build and sustain strong connections with key engineering firms and industry decision-makers.
  • Represent the company at industry events, professional associations, and technical conferences to enhance visibility and networking.
  • Manage the assigned territory strategically to support sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Use CRM tools to track engagements, opportunities, and performance metrics.

Market Insight & Support

  • Provide feedback to internal teams regarding customer needs, product performance, and market trends.
  • Analyze competitor positioning to identify differentiation strategies and potential growth areas.
  • Participate in regional planning and contribute to the company's long-term commercial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering, industrial sales, or manufacturing environments.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC systems, pumps, controls, and energy optimization principles.
  • Proficiency in design or product selection software (e.g., Adept or similar tools).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
