Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the integrity of cargo. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, utilizing both driving skills and equipment operation expertise to support our company's transportation needs.
Duties
- Operate commercial trucks to transport freight safely and efficiently across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts and other heavy equipment when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, documentation, and freight manifests.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to ensure vehicle operability.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws to prevent accidents or delays.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues.
Skills
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating forklifts and handling freight logistics.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair skills.
- Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely in various environments.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients. This position is integral to our operations, requiring a dedicated professional capable of managing freight transportation efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
