Job Title: Pastry Chef / Party Chef – Baking & French Pastry

Location: Toronto, ON

Reports to: Executive Chef

Employment Type: Full-time

Overview:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Pastry Chef (Party Chef) with strong knowledge of baking techniques and French pastry craftsmanship to join our culinary team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have experience in a commercial kitchen or fine dining environment, with the ability to produce elegant desserts, breads, and pastries that meet exceptional quality and presentation standards. Formal culinary training and pastry studies are considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute a wide range of baked goods, pastries, and plated desserts with precision and artistry.
  • Ensure consistency, portion control, and presentation standards across all pastry items.
  • Oversee mise en place, production schedules, and storage of ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team on menu planning and seasonal dessert offerings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry section.
  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or Patisserie from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen, preferably in fine dining or luxury hotels.
  • Strong understanding of baking science, French pastry techniques, and dessert presentation.
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen environment with knowledge of production processes and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented, professional, and passionate about the pastry craft.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $55,000 per year + Tips

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
