Job Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Payroll Compliance Tutor to provide expert guidance and training on payroll management and related financial concepts. This role involves educating individuals or teams on payroll systems, compliance standards, and accounting software to ensure accurate payroll processing and adherence to regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll operations, accounting software, and financial analysis, with the ability to communicate complex topics effectively. Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions on payroll management systems
  • Educate learners on payroll processing procedures, including data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and double entry bookkeeping.
  • Provide instruction on benefits administration, benefits reconciliation, and governmental or non-profit accounting practices related to payroll.
  • Demonstrate proper use of accounting software including QuickBooks, Financial software applications, and other relevant tools for payroll and general ledger management.
  • Guide participants through technical accounting concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, and tax-related payroll compliance.
  • Assist learners in developing analysis skills for payroll data review and compliance monitoring.
  • Support understanding of complex topics like non-profit accounting standards, accounts payable/receivable processes, and tax regulations affecting payroll operations.
  • Evaluate learner progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance their understanding of payroll compliance standards.

Skills

  • Payroll Compliance certification from Canadian Payroll Association
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll systems
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks and other financial management tools.
  • Strong understanding of payroll management principles and compliance regulations.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and benefits administration processes.
  • Solid background in corporate accounting practices including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, journal entries, debits & credits.
  • Experience with governmental or non-profit accounting standards related to payroll.
  • Excellent analytical skills for data analysis and problem-solving within financial contexts.
  • Effective communication skills for training diverse audiences on technical topics.
  • Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear instructional content suitable for various learning levels. This role is essential for ensuring that professionals are well-equipped with the knowledge needed to manage payroll accurately while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
