JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose

The Produce Packer Heavy is responsible for re-packing produce orders to small pack sizes and ensure customer order requirements are met. This includes counting and sorting produce, repetitive lifting of raw material with weights of up to 50+ lbs, moving boxes and organizing workstations, and operating power equipment to move pallets in the warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and grade products to ensure Food Safety requirements are met.
  • Accurate piece count of produce to meet customer order requirements.
  • Safely load workstations with raw material to prep for re-pack.
  • Re-pack of raw material from large pack size orders to small size packages.
  • Repetitive lifting of raw material with weights of up to 50+ lbs.
  • Operate power equipment such as power jack, hand jack or forklift to move and arrange products as required.
  • Assist in obtaining raw material from walk-in coolers as directed by Line Lead or Packing Supervisor.
  • Sanitize, wipe and clean workstations to maintain overall cleanliness of areas.
  • Frequent moving and arranging of boxes to maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Complies with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.


    •  Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.


    •  Perform other duties as assigned.
